Another busy weekend!

I feel like I say this all the time, but we had a super busy weekend! Saturday morning we picked up the kids from my parents house and ran home to put Ben down for a nap. We woke him up after only an hour so that we could head over to Mary Moore elementary for a charity event for March of Dimes honoring baby Matthew Lemley. Mattie (as they call him) passed away from complications of being born prematurely and his twin brother, Preston, survived. This happened about a year ago and so his parents, along with some friends, organized a walk in his honor. We were glad to attend and support our friends in this devastating loss. Baby Preston is doing well and just turned one! I didn't have my camera for this event but we had a good time and the weather was beautiful! We ran a few errands after that and then home again for nap #2 for Ben. We again had to wake him up, but this time for a birthday party! Clayton's 2nd bday party was at Little Gym and we had a wonderful time! Well, most of us did! For some reason Bennie Boo was being super clingy to me and did NOT want to be put down the entire time. I am definitely noticing some differences between him and Addyson. Addyson would go to any stranger, any time of day- no questions asked. She never ever had any separation anxiety from me or Ryan and to this day is good being away from us and being around new, unfamiliar people. Ben, on the other hand, is quite the opposite. He burries his head in my shoulder any time a new face comes to say hi and he definitely does not want anyone new to hold him. I'm sure this is just a little stage he is going through. He goes to people he knows with no problem, but he definitely recognizes if he does not know you!! When we got to the party I sat down on the floor with him thinking he would take off and go play but not so much! He started crying and just crawled up my leg as soon as I put him down. So, he got held the whole time! My sweet little mama's boy!
Addy bouncing away! He would let Daddy hold him! Which was a nice little break for my arms!
The last 3 minutes of the party I set him down on a wedge and he sat there. We were the only ones around. Maybe he is just going to be the type to warm up to new situations a little slower. That's okay!
The Birthday Boy blowing out his candles! Happy Birthday Clayton!
The kiddos eating cake and Chick-fil-A! Yum Yum!
There's a smile!!

Saturday night after the party we went over to Dustin and Brittany's house. Brittany cooked a most amazing homemade dinner and the kids all had a blast playing outside and riding bikes. Fun fun times. Thanks for having us over guys!! Saturday was a super long day for us, but lots of good times seeing family and friends.

Today we went to church and then this afternoon we had Addyson's first soccer game. Well, I'll use the word "game" loosely! They do a lot of skill drills and then break out into teams to basically run around kicking at any and all balls they can find. Very cute and by the end of today Addyson was getting the hang of it! I think at some point today every girl cried about something or somebody got hurt or was tired. I think it is this age because a mom of one of the boy's said they were all doing it too. Too funny!

All ready to go!

Practicing some skills!
About half way through today (they went from 1:45-3:00) Addyson started crying saying she was tired and wanted to go home. I think what really happened was that some other girl took the ball she was kicking or got in her way. I was like, sweetie, that is the enire point of the game. Quit crying and get back out there!! At one point her and this other girl were both running after the same ball and Addyson got mad and said "Hey, that's MY ball!" Ha! A couple of girls collided, one girl kicked her ball and slipped and fell right on her back, one girl kicked her ball and missed it and just sat down and started balling. Things like that. It was funny and cute! Unfortunately, it was SUPER windy today and that made it hard to do much of anything! She had her one little moment but she got it together and went back out and finished up really well! Looking forward to the rest of her games!

Well, Morgan was (and still is) very much like way you described Bennie Boo. Very shy and takes a while to warm up to new people and places and I think Graham might be more like Addyson but he too can be a little shy at times, so who knows?!? It was good seeing you all this weekend. Addy is one cute soccer player!

Addy sure looks cute! And maybe it is just a phase with Ben...he didn't seem shy when he came to play at our house!
