Pumpkin Pie mishaps

Tonight I made a pumpkin pie. As usual, me and the kitchen don't always add up. I thought it would be fun to have Addyson help me- she loves to help! Here she is eating marshmellows while I'm putting the ingredients together. She found these in the cabinet and loves them!

Very proud that she helped mix everything together! All is going well at this point!

Oops....

While I was pouring the mixture into the pie shell the bowl slipped out of my hands and right into the middle of what I had poured. It splattered EVERYWHERE...... nice. Half of the mixture is now out of the crust.

I was able to salvage the better part of it and I think it should be okay. Right when it happened Addyson said, "Mom, you have GOT to be more careful". Thanks Addy! She then said, "If dad sees this he is going to say this is a BIG mess." Again, yes, I am sure that is what he would say. Sigh. Oh well, I'll just have to clean all of this up!
I'm so thankful for this little munchkin.....she always keeps me smiling!

We put our outdoor lights up a few weeks ago. We turned them on this week and I love our front porch!

Here's a pic of the outside lights as well! We do have the tree up and such, but I'll do another post of indoor decorations to come. I'm not quite finished! Happy Thanksgiving all!

Addy's new room

A few weeks ago we moved Addyson's room to the empty room. When we moved into our house, we put her in her "old" room because it had its own bathroom. Well, after thinking more about it, the other bedroom has a jack and jill bathroom, but it is a lot bigger. The other bathroom is just a stand up shower and small sink area. Since we're having a boy next, we figured Addyson would rather have the big bathroom with bathtub and shower and the big counter space. The jack and jill just shares with Ryan's office, so it's not like she really has to "share" the bathroom with anyone. We moved her furniture and painted her new room. She loves it! And, she loved helping us move her stuff out!
The "old" room

New room!

I found the cross in Canton and thought it was perfect!

Now we're on to the baby room! We found furniture and ordered bedding this week- I'll post pics once we get started!

3 year old stats

Addyson had her 3 year old check up last week. Everything looked great and she is growing right on track. Or above track- she's in the 90th percentile for weight (35 lbs) and the 92nd percentile for height (39 inches). So, definitely proportionate, but on the upper end of the charts! Dr. Sampson said she looked great! She still has mild to moderate asthma and when she develops a cough, I ususally have to get a steroid for her or it can easily move into her chest. She takes breathing treatments for this as needed also. Ryan has asthma really bad and still takes meds for it and a few other people on his side have it as well. My dad had it when he was younger, so I guess she gets it from both sides! Just for my record keeping, here are other things she is doing right now as well:

Counts to 20
Can recognize all of her letters and their sounds
Knows if you say a word, what letter it starts with and vice versa.
Can recognize some sight words (mostly names and small words)
Can write a few of her letters (H, M, A, O)
Knows all of her shapes and colors
Loves to color and do art projects
Tells me 20 times a day how much she loves me!! It's the sweetest thing- she'll just randomly come up and give me a hug and say "Mom, I really love you so much". So sweet!

On another note, we are those people who yes, already have their Christmas lights up! They are not on, but they are on the house- yea! On Sunday Ryan worked at putting these up and then it started to pour down rain. Addyson has been begging to wear her new rain coat and umbrella that Nana got her for Halloween, so I let her put it on while Ryan was cleaning up all of his light mess in the yard. Yes, I let her go outside in just her little panties, a rain coat and the umbrella. Yes, it was cold and No, she doesn't have any shoes on. :) It was only for a minute or two- she had fun!

She LOVES this Cinderella dress that Grandma made for Kiley about 18 years ago. Nana found a bunch of dresses that Grandma made as dress up clothes for Kiley and Addy and Parker love playing with them. Addy talked Nana into letting her wear the Cinderella one home the other day and she literally has only taken it off to bathe. She loves it and really thinks she is a princess when wearing it!

Happy 3rd Birthday Addyson Tate

November 6th, 2009. One of my favorite days of the year, my sweet little baby girl's birthday! This year she turned 3 and I am so excited about this year and all that little Addyson will accomplish. Words cannot express how much Ryan and I love this precious little baby girl. She is constantly making us laugh and she has always has kept us on our toes! She is so smart, beautiful and everything I could ever want in a daughter. I love her so much and can't imagine life one day without her sweet little face! I can't believe she has already been here for 3 years. My how time flies! She is going to be a great big sister and I am already so proud of all she has become! Happy Birthday Addyson Tate- we love you so much!

We had her birthday party at a farm about 15 minutes south of us- Country Critters Farm. All of the kids were thouroughly entertained and it was a fun time for all! 26 kids came total and so there was lots going on! Here are some pics:

We started off the day with donuts with Mom and Dad! She likes a chocolate donut with sprinkles with chocolate milk. Just like her mommy!

When she got home from school on Friday Ryan and I had her new princess bike waiting for her in the living room. She was super excited about it and we have been bike riding around the neighborhood every day since! She does really well on it!

Friday night we went to Outback to eat dinner. Jennifer, Nick and Clayton met us up there for her birthday dinner. It was yummy! Jen Jen brought her present to dinner- a Sleeping Beauty Castle, which was a big hit! She loves anything princess or sleeping beauty right now!

Tammy and Morgan at the party. Tammy and I are both having boys this spring!

The picnic tables at the party!

Addyson and Reid. They were so cute when they saw each other- they both got kind of shy!

First activity while the kids were arriving- Bounce House!

Group pic of some of the family that came

Next, the kids all played on this big train playground. Addyson probably would have stayed here the whole time- she loved it!

Jen Jen and Mr. Clayton at the party!

Petting zoo! The kids got to brush the animals and go in there with them.

Daddy and Addy

Pony rides- all the kids got to ride the ponies. They had fun doing this!

Next was the train ride. It got stuck at one point and they had to push it, but none of the kids seemed to mind!
Gabriel and Hallie on the train

Addyson and Kallie on the Hay Ride

Nicole, Kim and me with our kiddos!

Kim and Noah

I didn't get any cake pictures- I guess I was taking video at that point! Oh well! We didn't open presents at the farm because we ran out of time, so we brought them home and had a present party! Addyson is SO in to anything princess right now. Any time she would open up a dress up item it had to be put on! She comes home every day and puts on a tu-tu!

Pa Pa and MiMi with Addy Tate

Say Cheese! She loves cameras!

She got this art easel from MiMi and PaPa. Nana and Pops gave her a teeter-totter toy for her swing set. It was still in the box, so we didn't get a pic of it. She got so much fun stuff! Thank you so much to everyone who came to make her birthday party a success! We truly appreciate you all coming!

Trick or Treat!

We had so much fun last night Trick-or-Treating! I think this is the first year Addyson has really gotten it, so that made it that much more fun! She was a witch, and nice witch at that! She was very adamant in making sure everyone knew she was a nice witch and not a mean witch! She had fun and loved the idea of going to people's houses to get candy. The first house we went to she did try and go in, not really realizing that you just go to the front door and then leave. She wanted to stop after each house and open the candy, but I kept trying to explain we would just eat it later! We made all of the usual stops, my parent's, nana and pops, Rusty's mom (Gail) and Grandman and Grandpa's house. We then went to our friend Jana and Clint's house for a kid/adult Halloween party. Lots of good treats and cute pics! Here is Addyson, the nice witch:

Addyson, Bosten, Parker and Brooks- they all looked so cute! (BB&P were the toy story characters just in case you couldn't tell!)

Now, here's another story...... Ryan and I had to dress up for the party we went to with Addyson. Parents, kids, everyone had to dress up. I am so bad when it comes to getting a costume, I just don't put forth the effort to get something together. So, Ryan and I were brainstorming on Friday what we could be. I googled pregnant lady couples costumes and came up with the idea below. Now, if you've noticed, I haven't posted many pics of Ryan lately. He's been growing out his hair, so it worked out perfectly for the costume!! We were Tandem truck drivers. I didn't know what "tandem" meant and Ryan explained it is a husband and wife trucking team that trades off driving. Sounds good to me! Ryan threw on a hat and wha-la, he was a trucker! He was so funny- seriously no one recognized him! Thank goodness!! And ha ha- this is a mullett wig we found at the costume store (not really his hair!)! Everyone needs a mullett wig! Right?

My role was to be a trucker with a beer gut sticking out, AKA my precious little unborn baby. I'm sure he'll appreciate this some day!

Scary man and Addyson. Oh wait, that's Ryan again. Yikes!! Family pic! Some girls from the party- Jana, Brittany, me, Meredith, Lindsay and Jamie (in front)
