First lost tooth!

Addyson lost her first tooth today!  We actually just realized it was loose last night and by this afternoon she was going crazy for it to be out.  Ryan busted out the dental floss, tied a little knot around the tooth and pulled it right out!  Ha!  I don't think she really knew what to expect.....we'll see if she lets us do that again with the next one!

Her eyes are SOOO red and puffy.  She is having a major allergy to all the pollen and with the wind blowing like it has, it has been crazy on her poor little eyes!  This is mostly allergies, but some tears from the pull!  She has a tea bag in her mouth to help stop the bleeding.  Handy tip for the day- tea bags stop mouth bleeding almost instantly!

Mustering up a smile!

When Ryan pulled the floss, her tooth went flying!  He and Addy serached the carpet rug for the tooth with flashlights until Daddy redemed himself and found the tooth!  Whew!!

The weapon of choice!

Look mom!  It's gone!

Found the tooth!!

Here she is in all her glory!  Addyson was pretty amazed at how that all worked!
I wanted to document this day.  My little girl is growing up right before my eyes and I'm not going to say I have not shed a tear over this little tooth coming out.  :(   I'll look up next and she'll be off driving!  Wish they could stay little forever!

The makings of a fit....

Oh my sweet Benjamin!  You make mommy smile each and every day!!  Ben has definitely entered the world of throwing little (sometimes not so little) tantrums and fits.  The beauty of the second child is that I can often sit back and laugh about these little fits, although annoying sometimes, but none the less I know that this too shall pass.  With the first child, I think parents are often mortified by these actions of their child and think, What in the world happened to my sweet baby??!!  But with the second, you know that it is all just a phase and a part of them learning how to control their emotions and get what they want and its actually quite funny to watch!

Dinner with Ben is never a dull moment!  Pretty much every night he throws food, gets put in time out, gets mad, apologizes with the sweetest little melt your heart words and then it all continues!  He can go from super toot to super sweet in a matter of minutes!  Love this boy!

Getting mad.....appears to be a self inflicted fish hook!
flailing about!  Getting pretty worked up!
 Sorry mommy.....
okay, this is my super mad face.  Grrrr.....I am M.A.D at you!  (for who knows what!)
Tantrum ensues!  Tray is kicked off of high chair, feet come up, lots of screaming.
Now, I know you might think this is terrible that I was photographing all of this, but trust me, it didn't really change things!  As crazy as it is sometimes, I really do love this age!  His little words just crack me up and make me smile!  The other night in the bath the water was a little hot and right as he was puting his little hiney in the water he popped back up and said, "Ouch, hot booty!"  Ha!!  The way he says booty is so darn cute- he kind of draws it out and it's more like, boooootyyyyyy.  Love this little boy of mine!

House updates!

Our moving plans are coming right along!  Well, part of it at least!  We did make an offer on a house up in Overland Park, Kansas.  Overland Park is a suburb of Kansas City and the largest of the suburbs up there.  I think I kind of equate it to a Plano type suburb.  Bigger than Frisco and McKinney, but not super big.  Other surrounding suburbs are Leawood, Mission, Shawnee and Lenexa.  All of those are much smaller, but they kind of all blend in together.

Overall, I really like the area.  It seems to be very clean, hilly, lots of trees.  Different from where we live now!  The housing market up in KC has been very hot lately- meaning that when good houses come on the market, they are going within days.  This made it a little harder since we are 9 hours away!  Ryan and I scheduled a trip up there a few weeks ago and fell in love with a house that I had seen on-line for a while.  It had a really good feel to it in person, we LOVE the neighborhood (it's on a cul-de-sac) and it has all of the right spaces for us!
Here is the front of the house- has a very homey feel!
Most houses in the KC area have hearth rooms.  I really like the idea of this!  Its a cozy little room off of the kitchen (usually with fireplace).  This one is not super big and PLEASE know that we'll be changing all of the decor, but I really like the idea of it!  I plan to make ours super cozy!  The windows overlook the back yard, which is nice too!
This is one of my fav things about this house.  The backyard!  VERY different than anything around here and I like that!  Our house has a walk out basement which means that from the front, the house looks 2 story, but from the back it looks 3 story.  All of these houses on 2 streets back to each other and the back yard is one big play ground for the kids.  Most people do not have fences and the yards just kind of run in to each other.   Our house has a deck off of the main level, but from the back of the house it is the 2nd floor.  This is the view from our deck!  I'm sure it will look much different when all of the trees are bloomed out!

Another thing about houses up north is basements!  Yay!  I'm not sure why this is exciting, but it's nice to have a whole additinal floor to your house!  Our basement has a bedroom, a couple of little nook areas, a living area and a bathroom.  It will be perfect for guests when they come and stay!

Here is the living area of the basement.  It has doors that walk out to the backyard at ground level.  This is considered a walk-out basement because you can walk out of it!
The view from our yard, looking at the back of our house.  There is a covered area that the basement walks out to under the deck.

This is standing on the porch from the basement level to the back yard.

All we need now is to sell our house here!!  :)

The sellers of this house in Overland Park are also relocating and so they are open to a long close.  Right now, our close date is set for June 1st.  They have a daughter that is finishing the school year, so it works out great for them as well to extend this date.  This gives us a little more time to sell our house, which is nice too!
