We left Friday morning BRIGHT and early for our quick trip to Kansas. Our flight left at 7:15 so that had us leaving the house at 5:15, which had my alarm going off at 4! Unfortunately, I could not go to sleep at all the night before and I only got an hour and a half of sleep. No good! But we had lots to look forward to, so all was good! We have really been wanting to bring Addyson up to Kansas to show her the house and take her by her new school. They were having Kindergarten round up on Friday so we thought that would be the perfect day to go. We also wanted to meet some contractors at our new house to get some bids on painting and flooring, so it was a very productive trip! Addyson was super excited about the plane ride and she was ready to go!

Fortunately we were able to get into our hotel room really early (around 9:30 that morning) so we spent some time at the indoor heated pool at the hotel. This was probably Addyson's favorite part. After swimming the second time, she got out of the pool, wrapped the towel around her and said, "Mom, this has been
the most relaxing trip!" Ha! Too funny!!

In the afternoon we went out and had some lunch and then Addyson and I headed up to her new school. I can't even say enough how friendly and nice every single person was at her school. I just loved all of them! They all knew that we had come in from Texas and they were so friendly and nice. I had just the best feeling about it! It was everything I had hoped it would be. We even got to meet her teacher, Ms. Price. She was just about the cutest, nicest lady and everything you would imagine a Kindergarten teacher to be. She has taught for a LONG time and has taught several grade levels (including all the way up to 9th grade) and I am just so happy about it! First impressions were good, so hopefully it continues that way!
When we got there they split the kids up into 3 groups and took them away to do some fun stuff and all the parents went to the library for a meeting. Lots of information, but really good stuff. I love stuff like this and I am so happy for Addyson to be starting school!
Okay, are you ready for the crazy part?? So, we were split up into groups and there was this little girl named Clarissa standing next to Addyson. I said hi to her mom (you know, got to make me some friends!) and turns out, they are our next door neighbors!! WHAT?!! So exciting!! How random is that? I take it as a total God moment when something like that happens and it just gives me chills thinking about it! They live directly next door to us and the girls will be starting Kindergarten together. The mom was really nice too and seemed like someone that I would be friends with, so that was good too. Again, just the best day up there and it couldn't have gone any better!

Later that afternoon we went back over to the house where we had some contractors lined up to give us some bids. Addyson got to explore the house and she really loved it! I am so glad as I really want her to be happy about all of this! So far, so good!
So, this is a pic taken from February when we were there. Notice the tree in the front flower bed....
Now it looks like this! Everything is bloomed out and growing!
Here is a pic of the flower garden in the back yard. They have some really nice plants and these are all azaleas. I am going to have to sharpen up my green thumb!!
The view off the back deck. Remember what it looked like before?
And, I think I forgot to post the pic, but we do have a big peach tree in the back yard too that had tons of peaches on it. Love that! We had a great time and Addyson made a list of the things she loved most about Kansas on the way home and she put 1. Her House 2. The people and 3. The birds. Too cute! There were lots of different birds in the backyard and she had fun watching them.
We headed home on Saturday evening just in time to avoid the storms that ran through Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. At least up there we have a basement!! Me and my girl on our way home!
We went straight over to my parents to pick up Mr. Ben who loved having his MiMi and PaPa to himself all weekend. He probably didn't even notice we were gone, but he was happy to see us all for sure! It was Hallie's birthday and here she is holding up 5 fingers to show how old she is! Happy Birthday sweet Hallie!
Ben thought this was fun, so he showed me both of his hands! Gee, can you tell they are eating a cupcake with pink icing?? :)
And then there is Addyson giving us 20!
