Last weekend

Here are just a few pictures from the last week. I've been super busy at work, so I haven't had much time to post lately! Addyson loves her ladybug towel! After bath every night she wants to put it on her head and then she wants me to slowly turn her to the mirror and she gets the biggest smile on her face. So cute!

Last Friday night we had a birthday party at Little Gym for Addyson's friend Carter. We had so much fun!

I kept trying to get a really good picture of her, but she gets here and is so busy she won't stop for 2 seconds to smile for mommy! I'm sure I was being super annoying following her around with the camera and saying- "Look at mommy- SMILE!!" It never happened....

One of Addy's favorite things to do in the evening is to play golf with daddy. She's such a big helper- she drops the ball for Ryan and when he hits them she runs and gets it! She has her clubs also and tries to hit them too.

Long lost Lisa!

Hello friends!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long- I have good intentions but then stuff just comes up. I am super busy with work right now and also we decided to start potty training Addyson last week. Needless to say, I haven't had much time to update my blog!

Potty training is not going so well. I think Addyson understands the process, but she doesn't want to stop watching Lion King for 2 seconds to go potty! So, I don't think she is ready yet. I have been high strung mama lately because I'm constantly saying "It's time to go potty" and she yells NOOOOOOO and runs the other way. 5 minutes later she pees everywhere and I get mad! Well, not mad at her, just mad at the situation! We are using the plastic underwear (not pull-ups) so that she can definitely tell when she pees. It also gets everywhere, which is not fun. I think we might stop for a few weeks (or months) and see if she cools down a little. Some days ar good though- Saturday she didn't have any accidents at all and so that was good. We'll see....

I leave tomorrow for Austin for a meeting and I'll be back Friday night. I'll post more later and some recent pics I have taken of you know who!

Play Date!

Today we had a play date out up in Lantana at Katie May's house. Thanks Katie for opening up your home and letting us all come and play! We had so much fun! Below (from L to R) is half of Brooks, Noah, Reed, Anderson, Addyson and Paige. Missing from the picture is Claire and Reid. Below is Jessica and Reed, Erika and Anderson, me and Addyson and Jennifer and Clayton. What, you can't see Clayton? He's in Jen Jen's tummy!! Sorry, Addyson calls Jennifer Jen Jen and so that is what I have resorted to calling her most of the time now!

Sarah and Jimmy's Wedding

Saturday night we went to Sarah and Jimmy's wedding in Fort Worth. It was a beautiful wedding and we had so much fun! I especially loved all of the special touches that they added to their wedding that made it so special and memorable. My favorite was that instead of doing the same old "first dance", they performed a choreographed (sp???) dance that was so beautiful and fun to watch. I loved it! We were so glad to have been invited to share in their special day!

The wedding was at a small church in downtown Fort Worth and the reception was at the Ashton Depot. The food was fabulous and everything was perfect- wonderful wedding!!

Addyson's Big Girl Bed

Santa brought Addsyon a big girl bed for Christmas. It is so cute and Addyson is very excited about it! She slept in it for the first time last night and I was really sad when we took her crib down. It is a really big "step" and my little baby is getting so big!! We wanted to start good sleep habits, so Ryan and I put her to bed last night and told her that mommy or daddy would come and get her out of her bed when she wakes up in the morning. I thought- we'll see how this goes.... Well, she did great! She slept all night and didn't make a peep! This morning when she woke up she yelled- MOMMY- I'M AWAKE!! I went in and got her and took her out of the bed. Perfect! She didn't get out of her bed at all! Now, we'll see if this continues.....First night was good though! Here's some pictures of her new bedding- it is precious! We found the bed (headboard and footboard) at JC Penny- they have tons of cute kids bedroom furniture! We ordered it on-line and got free shipping so it was a great deal.

Merry Christmas!

Our Christmas festivities started off on 12/24 for our annual Christmas Eve brunch at Grams' house. All of the cousins and aunts from Ryan's side get together over at Grams' house and exchange gifts and such. It is always a fun time! Below is a picture of all the kiddos up on Grams' mantle singing Jingle Bell Rock- so precious!

Next we went over to Nana and Pop's house (Ryan's parents) to spend the rest of the day with them and do Christmas with our immediate family on Ryan's side. We had a great time and Addyson got her kitchen. She absolutely LOVES it! I know she'll play with it for years to come. All of the kids had a great time and it was a fun day. I got a new bedspread for our room and some sheets (exciting, I know- but I have been looking for one forever and I finally found one I liked!) and Ryan just asked for money. He is putting it towards a flat screen for our room.

Later that night we went to church at our church in Mansfield. The whole family came and we took up 3 rows! The "family friendly" service had the kids who wanted to dress up for the nativity scene. She did so good- she was the youngest one up there and she just walked up to the front of the church with all the other kids (most were like first through fourth grade) and stood up on stage for about 5 minutes while everyone was singing and such. It was so cute!! She did not want to take the costume off!

Christmas morning we woke up and Santa had come to our house! She was so excited that Santa ate all of the cookies and the reindeer ate the carrot and just left one bite!! Santa brought Addyson a big girl bed, baby dolls and lots of accessories, Lion King (her fav movie right now), tons of stuff for her new room, Elmo jammies, Dora books, clothes and probably a few other things I am forgetting! She must have been a good girl this last year, which she definitely was!

She also got some Elmo big girl undies in her stocking and she just loved them! She wanted to put them on right away! We'll be tackling potty training after the first of the year......

At about 10:00 we went over to my parents house for a late breakfast and to spend the day with them. We had a great day. Most of the pictures I took are on my mom's camera, so I'll have to get those later. She got a Big Wheel and it is too big for her, so she was a little disappointed that she couldn't ride it. She got lots of other good stuff- too much to even list! The picture below about sums it up for the day- Merry Christmas to you and your family!! Cheers!
